Ken MetcalfeKen Metcalfe was born in Audenshaw, Manchester. Marrying in 1968, he worked all his life in the family Engineering business in Droylsden. Retiring from the business in 2000, he moved to Cornwall with his wife Val to help her with the running of a holiday let cottage at Lower Tamsquite in St. Tudy. In his spare time he enjoys tending to the gardens, cooking and the occasional round of golf. Recently however, he has found a new passion and has been writing children's stories of which there are many. His first book 'Toad's getting married' was published on September 12th. 2016. 

 Ken has completed his second book 'Toad and the Miracle at Croco Lake' and this has now been published in April 2017. He has written five stories altogether in the 'Toad's African Adventure' Series and has not finished yet. Following a request from one of his grandchildren, he has been writing stories about mythical creatures in North Cornwall. The first book in the 'The Magicals of Kernow' series is called 'The Wings of Doom' and was published in September 2018.
